Your clients, and the limit of 5 on Free
Where clients come from, what a client record holds, and how the Free limit of 5 clients works, including why there is no delete.

A client in Riffit is a name, plus the details you send documents to. You rarely add one on purpose. Most arrive while you are making something else.
Where clients come from
- In a WhatsApp form. Pick New client at the bottom of the list, type a name, and an email if you have it.
- From a sentence, on Pro. A name Riffit has not seen becomes a new client when you save.
- On the dashboard. The invoice and quote forms can add a client as you go, and the Clients page has New Client.
A quote to someone who has not hired you yet still makes them a client.
What a client record holds
A name is the only thing required. The rest is optional: email, phone, company, GST number and address.
Two of those decide how a document can reach them: an email for sending by email, and a phone number for WhatsApp, which is Pro. Riffit asks for whichever is missing when you go to send.
A phone number is an Indian 10-digit mobile number, and a GST number is the 15-character GSTIN. One email address can belong to only one of your clients.
The Clients page
Pick a client and you see what you have invoiced them, what they have paid and what is still pending, with every document you have made for them underneath. The pencil edits their details.
It is also where a job paid in parts adds up, because every invoice to that client sits in the same place.
The limit on Free
Free holds 5 clients. Pro has no limit.
The 5 are for the life of the account, not per month. There is no delete and no archive for a client, on purpose: their invoices, quotes and contracts point at them, and a client that could vanish would take the record of who you billed with it. So on Free, a client added is a slot used.
At the limit, you can keep sending quotes and invoices to the 5 you have, within your plan. What stops is adding a sixth. The dashboard stops there and shows you what Pro adds, and in chat Riffit tells you the limit is reached, with a button to Go Pro.
Clients you add during your 14-day Pro trial stay yours when it ends. If that leaves you with more than 5, every one of them keeps working. You just cannot add another on Free.
